Every card is numbered
Cards are minted with a serial the instant they're pulled. Someone holds #1 of every pet, forever. When the series sells out, whatever was minted becomes the final print run. Foils are an independent 1-in-250 pull on any card: a handful of copies per series, the real trophies. The shop won't even buy them. They're too scarce to destroy.
